Creative Projects
Film Photography
Over the years, I’ve really grown to love film photography. I’ve taken hundreds of photos, and there’s something honest and satisfying about not seeing the result until the roll is developed. The moments I’ve captured feel more intentional, and they’re photos I know I’ll be glad to look back on in the future.
Junk Journaling
I’ve also enjoyed junk journaling as a creative outlet. I was inspired by a Sydney creator, Martina Calvi, and even went to her book launch with a friend, which is the photo you can see. Martina encourages people to capture nostalgia in a physical way, and that’s what I enjoy about it. There are no rules: you can include receipts, coasters, ribbon, wrapping paper from gifts, your own artwork or as many stickers as you want. It’s essentially scrapbooking with a more sentimental edge. My journal has become one of my favourite possessions, and I guess you can say I'm a pretty sentimental person.
Lino Printing
Another hobby I’ve enjoyed this year is lino printing. It involves carving into a rubber block so you can print multiple copies of your design. I’ve made three personalised gifts using this method, and I also used it when creating my Greek art gallery floor plan. It helped me experiment with different shapes and stamp them together to form a unique layout. It’s definitely a time-consuming process, but the final result is always worth it.
